Jenny Prentice has passed away peacefully in her sleep recently, here is a photograph of her taken over 50 years ago in 1962.
This is the photograph is of a major Hildersham WI concert held c.1962, it involved a lot of the villages women & children. I remember that the children sang ‘Food Glorious Food’ & acted in a tableau.

HELEN FOVARGE lived at Corner Cottage & on the Linton back road at Whitehill
JENNY PRENTICE & her husband Vic, still lives at 9 Beech Row, Hildersham; she worked at Hildersham Watermill for many years.
JEAN READMAN now lives in Newmarket, but used to live at 14 Beech Row, Hildersham
MARGARET BATE still lives at 5 Meadowland, she has been a sidesman at the church for over 40 years & she used to be the Landlady of the Pear Tree.
GLADYS GREGORY used to live at 3 Meadowlands, she was a Governess in Montevideo during the sinking of the Graf Spee.
SILVIA PHILLIPS was the sister of Canon Phillips rector from 1900-48 & built Seven Beeches.
ETHEL MORRELL used to live in Church Cottages & was a faithful servant of the church for many years, she was also famous for her apple pies.
